Advisory Board Meeting of SEE Change Net
The first physical meeting of SEE Change Net Advisory Board was held in March, in Brussels. The members of the Advisory Board had the chance to meet and discuss the work done so far and future plans and expectations for SEE Change Net. The meeting had additional guest conversationalists who also gave their perspective on the important matters. Mr. Nicholas Cendrowicz, Head of Sector in the Centre of Thematic Expertise for DG NEAR, European Commission explained the institutional position of DG NEAR and its role, while Mr. Eduard Kukan, MEP, gave the political purview of South East Europe, in order to make the Advisory board members more aware of the political landscape in which SEE Change Net operates.
The interesting discussion was on the topic Climate change and rising political trends where Mr. Noah Kittner gave American perspective while Advisory Board members Will Day and Kalman Mizsei gave UK/EU and Russian perspective on the matter. Also, Director of Energy Community Janez Kopač was talking about the future challenges and the vision for Energy Community. One of the guest conversationalists was Ms. Shada Islam, Director Europe and Geopolitics of Friends of Europe, who gave think-tank perspective on the European and global matters.
The Advisory Board Members Joan van den Brink, Kalman Mizsei, Jim Shultz and Will Day signed Transparency statements and Vision statement of SEE Change Net. It is also decided that Shada Islam is going to be a new member of the Advisory Board.
