It gives us great pleasure to invite you, in cooperation with DG Energy and DG NEAR, to a half day policy conference titled Fair, Clean, and Efficient Energy System in South East Europe and the Neighbourhood.
The conference is an official part of the EU Sustainable Energy Week 2015 programme and will take place at the European Commission’s Charlemagne building on the morning of June 17th 2015.
We will have some fascinating new results and some excellent speakers.
The event will follow a natural flow of topics, starting with energy efficiency and renewable energy policy framework, continuing with operations and finishing with financing opportunities.
Seven 2050 energy models for seven countries of South East Europe will be presented during a Policy Session “Launch of the 2050 Energy Model for South East Europe (and beyond?)”, that will be followed by a policy session titled “Ambitious Targets for the Energy Community: Where We Stand Today”, along with a discussion/consultation on the building blocks of a road map for meeting those targets. The event will be co-hosted by DG NEAR – the sponsors of the CSO project SEE SEP (South East Europe Sustainable Energy Policy programme), with the participation of the Energy Community.
The event will be chaired by Garret Tankosić-Kelly, founder and Principal of SEE Change Net Foundation.
Speakers include Şerban Scrieciu, Economic Analyst at European Commission, DG Energy, who will talk about the EU context, 2050 Road Map and the steps to get there, Tom Counsell, Deputy Director at the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change, who will talk about the benefits of the DECC 2050 model in public policy dialogue, Dan Kammen, Director of the Renewable and Appropriate Energy Laboratory (RAEL), who will present the road map building blocks based on the SEE 2050 Energy Models, and Borko Raičević, Energy Efficiency and Renewables Expert from Energy Community, who will speak about mirroring 2020 targets to NEAR region and perspectives for 2030,
