Exploring lifestyle changes in Europe- EUCalc Expert Workshop in Brighton
“Exploring lifestyle changes in Europe” workshop took place at University of Sussex, Brighton, UK, back-to-back with the Sustainable Production and Consumption Conference. This workshop was the first in a series of ten that will be held during the EUCalc development phase to elicit expert feedback in the different sectors. This workshop is part of the lifestyle module of the EUCalc. During the workshop participants from civil society, academia, private sector and the European Commission were asked to discuss research methodology, validate assumptions, and to account for the full range of opinion when we consider possible lifestyles futures. Examples of questions that the workshop aimed to address are: what are the main drivers, trends and game-changing practices the European Calculator ought to address? What social and environmental impacts should be covered by the European Calculator? What are the barriers and opportunities to scale up promising practices across Europe; and, what implications this entails for stakeholders across business, government and society?
